In addition to the scribblings that populate A Cursory Glance… I am also involved in a number of other creative endeavours. See below for details;
The Climbing Cyclist
As a recreational cyclist with an unhealthy appetite for self-destruction, I quite enjoy cycling uphill. So much so that I have dedicated many hours to the construction and maintenance of The Climbing Cyclist, ‘a detailed guide to Victoria’s most popular cycling climbs’.
As well as a blog detailing my personal cycling adventures, the site contains detailed reviews of some of the best climbs around Victoria. It is by no means complete, and I add new climbs to the site whenever I can.
As well as the site itself, The Climbing Cyclist has a presence on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Travel Blog
In late 2008 and early 2009 my partner Sharon and I spent nine weeks in Western Europe and the UK. As we moved around I documented our progress in a travel blog which I later converted into a book, complete with photos.

Musical stylings
As a young ‘un I did a few years of piano lessons, working my way to grade three before thinking I was too cool to practice. I’ve since continued playing piano in an unofficial, irregular and essentially-talentless manner while picking up basic skills in guitar, bass and drums.
I’ve built a collection of well over a hundred songs in various stages of completion, with most of them being basic ideas which I’ve lacked the patience and/or ability to complete. In an attempt to have something to show for my work, I started a MySpace account a few years ago which I use to host pieces that I’ve put together in only a few hours. They are of varying quality and all of them could probably do with re-recording.
